The Sr. Consultant within the Technology and Commercialization Office (TCO) will be instrumental in shaping and operationalizing programming that fosters venture development relationships and growth of the capital and translation ecosystem to facilitate the commercialization of innovative technologies developed by the university. This position will focus on building and maintaining mutually beneficial stakeholder relationships across the venture development and innovation ecosystem. This role requires a high degree of expertise to manage a vast and significant network of customer stakeholder groups, both internal (university leadership, faculty, researchers, colleges, departments, centers, and institutes, including the Center for Software Innovation) and external (venture capitalists, angel investors, serial entrepreneurs, state government and state government leaders in partnership with Government Relations). The Sr. Consultant will drive increased engagement with potential startup leaders, mentors, EIRs, XIRs, advisory boards, sources of capital and the Ohio State Innovation Foundation (OSIF) board of directors.
The role includes conducting in-depth market research on commercialization, venture development, and entrepreneurship, collaborating with creative teams, and identifying effective channels to reach target audiences. This role will be responsible for identifying and segmenting customers and stakeholders, developing positioning and differentiated value propositions, and creating messaging platforms across the innovation ecosystem. The Sr. Consultant will drive an integrated and inclusive approach to content planning and deployment in partnership with other collaborative offices across the university. By evaluating key performance metrics and devising innovative engagement campaigns grounded in data analysis, the Sr. Consultant will significantly contribute to the success of TCO's initiatives.
This position requires a strategic mindset, strong analytical capabilities, and excellent communication skills to execute impactful communication and engagement strategies within the dynamic realm of venture development and technology commercialization. The Sr. Consultant will be responsible for leading and implementing strategic engagement initiatives with a broad scope to maximize positive, long-term results for the university and commercialization ecosystem at large.

The pay range for this job profile is $138,600 - $182,300. The offer for this position will fall within this range based on multiple factors including internal equity, the units available budget, and the candidates qualifications.
