What Communications Business Partners contributes to Cardinal Health
Communications defines and executes communication and public relations strategies in support of the company's business objectives, image and reputation for both internal and external stakeholders. This function builds relationships with internal and external stakeholders to develop messaging, design meetings and create communications strategies to engage employees and build relationships, in addition to working with external stakeholders, including media and community organizations, to leverage these relationships and promote the company.
Purpose of the position
The position is responsible for the execution of comprehensive communication strategies and tactics to engage employees and stakeholders in support of business strategies and initiatives. As part of the Communications team supporting Finance, Legal, Regulatory, Compliance, Government Relations, and Quality, the role applies principles and practices that exemplify world-class communication, contributing to the communications strategies for these global corporate functions.
Responsibilities
General
Create and adapt content for a variety of audiences.
Collaborate with leaders, staff, and partners to develop and implement strategic communication plans that reflect the company's mission, values, brand, and priorities all while mitigating risk.
Seek and maintain comprehensive understanding of the business and functions.
Collaborate with communication business partners across the company to distribute information and follow consistent communication processes and practices.
Knowledgeable about the latest communication trends and tools, bringing new ideas and refreshed approaches to improve the effectiveness of communication.
Develop and maintain effective working relationships with the company's outside agencies and consultants.
Communication capabilities
Curate, develop, and edit a variety of content and provide support for key internal town hall meetings, leadership meetings and video messages.
Create and coordinate internal announcements and change management communications.
Support the communication of urgent issues that affect our customers and suppliers.
Create and manage content for internal and external channels.
Ensure consistency in tone, style, and messaging across all communication materials.
Event and engagement capabilities
Develop process and protocols for the promotion of events and other engagement activities.
Collaborate with leaders and stakeholders to create engaging event agendas, develop content (including presentation materials and talking points), coordinate logistics, and ensure the seamless execution of events and activities.
Coach speakers and on presentation style and elevate story telling capabilities.
Develop and execute effective follow-up strategies to gauge impact and gather feedback for continuous improvement.
Leadership capabilities
Counsel leaders on how to translate complex information into meaningful narratives for both internal and external audiences.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred.
5 or more years of experience in communications, public relations or related field, preferred.
Experience working globally or across regions preferred.
Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
Proven experience in leading and executing events, preferably in the corporate environment.
Self-directed, action oriented, forward-thinking and innovative with high ethical standards.
Strong analytical skills, ability to translate complex information, good judgment and strong operational focus.
Strong organizational and project management skills, including the ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Thrives in a fast pace, collaborative environment and desires to continuously improve communication offerings for the best outcomes.
