What Government Relations contributes to Cardinal Health Government Relations monitors and influences state, federal and international public policy in support of the company's strategic agenda.
Government Relations liaises with government officials and political groups to promote the company's interests and manages the company's political action committee (PAC). In conjunction with the Legal function, this job family also educates business leaders regarding the current and potential impacts of public policies on the business.

The Legislative Analyst, Federal Government Relations reports to the Manager, Federal Government Relations and will have a key role in monitoring legislation and regulations that impact Cardinal Health in support of the company's business objectives. This role is one of two positions that Cardinal Health is currently hiring for the Federal Government Relations team. This role will focus on the pharmaceutical segment of the company.
Responsibilities
Works with the Federal Government Relations team to track legislative issues and monitor key issues as they relate to internal stakeholders.
Monitor and analyze legislative and regulatory proposals, appropriations, and issues that are key to Cardinal Health's pharmaceutical segment.
Partners with the team to maintain a legislative and regulatory database and supports Government Relations and Regulatory Affairs in researching legislative and regulatory policy matters.
Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to manage research, data collection and analysis to support Government Relations priorities and enhance the company's reputation and positioning on key legislative and regulatory matters.
Provides bill analysis, research, and monitoring to inform the Government Relations team's work and strategy.
Watch and provide detailed reports of relevant congressional hearings and markups.
In conjunction with Manager, Federal Government Relations, prepare letters, testimony, and memos in collaboration with other Cardinal Health functions, trade associations and stakeholders to achieve acceptable language.
Participate in trade association calls and meetings and draft detailed summaries.
Participate in internal planning and policy discussions to ensure broad understanding of the strategic drivers of Cardinal Health's engagement on policy issues.
Prepare written materials for meetings and follow-up action items.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from accredited college or university highly preferred.
Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience including experience in policy analysis and the legislative/regulatory process preferred.
Experienced with healthcare, political, legislative, and regulatory issues, as well as Congress and the executive branch, and applicable governmental agencies.
Demonstrated writing, editing, and presentation skills.
Demonstrated success working in a team environment.
