Assistant Director of Transportation
Annual salary range: $151,531 to $180,877

The District is seeking a strong leader with an in-depth knowledge of bus transportation and yard operations. The ideal candidate will have experience working with an elected board and unions; deep knowledge of transportation, preferably buses; bus yard operations; dispatch, is a must. The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator who is able to establish relationships of trust with both internal and external stakeholders. Strong leadership skills; emotional intelligence; a solid ethical foundation; a vision for the future; the ability to develop and promote a diverse and productive work force environment; and to lead, manage, and supervise their team while holding them accountable will be vital for this position.

Experience: Seven (7) years of increasingly responsible experience in operations in a transit environment, that included at least three (3) years of management level experience equivalent to an AC Transit Transportation Superintendent.

Education: Equivalent to a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university in transportation planning, public administration, business administration, or a directly related field. Additional experience above the minimum in a directly relevant field will be considered in lieu of education on a year-for-year basis.
