Vice President of Equity, Diversity, and Transformation

The successful candidate will:
Provide leadership, coordination, consultation, assistance, strategic oversight, and direction, regarding all equity, diversity, and transformation matters;
Develop and provide leadership to the implementation of an equity, diversity, and transformation plan that affirms the College's commitment to the principles of equity, diversity, and transformation, while aiming to create an environment that is welcoming and supportive of all students, faculty & staff;
Serve as a member of the Leadership Team (executive cabinet) responding to emerging issues, ideas, and challenges impacting the college's ability to effectively move forward with equity, diversity and transformation efforts;
Assess current campus policies, procedures, and structures and recommend improvements that remove barriers to student, and employee success;
Oversee and implementation of Senate Bill 5194 which includes but is not limited to conduct annual listening and feedback sessions and provide anti-racist training to all new faculty and staff;
Be a resource in the development of inclusive curricula and pedagogical practice in collaboration with the Vice President of Academic Affairs and faculty;
Partner with Human Resources to develop strategies and opportunities to recruit and retain a diverse workforce that is reflective of the global diversity of the student population;
Develop and implement employee professional development to support equity and cultural competencies, and an ability to work and thrive in an increasingly diverse college community;
Develop dynamic and intentional equity, diversity and transformation programs and initiatives for faculty and staff that adequately address the educational and social needs of our campus community;
Provide guidance on the inclusion of tribal issues in the development of program and policies;
Provide analysis of legislation related to equity, diversity, transformation, non-discrimination, and develop and recommend policies that ensure compliance with all legal requirements;
Develop metrics and dashboards to ensure accountability, tracking, and monitoring of equity, diversity, and transformation efforts. Work closely with College offices in the use of data tools (i.e. campus climate survey, demographic data, student completion and employment data, etc.) to compile reports that create benchmarks and assess institutional progress regarding equity, diversity, and inclusion efforts;
Be responsible for compliance and associated reports related to equity, diversity, and transformation;
Advise the Equity Taskforce and participate in college councils and committees as appropriate;
Perform other duties as assigned by the college President.

Ability to demonstrate active listening, be empathetic and hold authentic space for others;
Facilitate both informal and formal conversations and trainings with campus and community constituents;
Understand budget and resource management;
Familiarity with hiring, training, on-boarding, and the development of professional support staff;
Actionable knowledge of the systemic challenges students face and the multi-faceted assets students contribute to our college campus community.
This administrative assignment may include day, evening, and weekend hours, and/or off- campus work including regional and national travel.
Master's degree from an accredited institution; AND
Minimum of 3 years of direct experience in the development, implementation, and assessment of equity, diversity and transformation initiatives.
Experience in a higher education setting;
Demonstrated supervisory experience;
Experience in student and staff recruitment, retention, training, and employment strategies to foster workplace diversity, equity, and transformation;
Demonstrated understanding of culture in higher education, including shared governance and respect for diverse views and opinions;
Demonstrated experience with developing and supporting continuous improvement principles utilizing a systemic approach and data for decision-making;
Demonstrated experience in working collaboratively across multiple internal and external entities and community organizations that serve our student demographics;
Experience in effectively facilitating challenging conversations that produce equitable outcomes;
Demonstrated administrative approach with an informed, intersectional lens;
Knowledge of indigenous sovereignty and experience with government to government relations;
Bilingual/multilingual individual with preferences for languages utilized by our student populations.
