The Palm Beach Chamber of Commerce, located on the southeastern coast of Florida, has launched an executive search process for a President and Chief Executive Officer. The Chason Group has been retained to assist with the search process. The Search Committee anticipates a start date for the new executive in November – December 2022.
The Ideal Candidate. The Search Committee is seeking a dynamic collaborator and communicator who understands a diverse culture and population as it relates to the Palm Beach business community. The professional will be responsible for the dayto-day operations of the chamber as a nonprofit business organization. Leadership, visionary strategic planning, communications, government relations/public policy, and building partnerships for economic, community and regional development are key responsibilities of the professional. Other organization accountable duties include financial growth and management, talent development, and innovative strategic planning and implementation.
Key attributes the Search Committee will be looking for in candidates.
- Five years of executive management leadership experience in the tourism, hospitality, chamber of commerce, association, business, economic development and/or community development field, or a combination of these.
- A proven extended tenure in leading an organization through visionary growth and meaningful change to improve the business environment of the community.
- An innovative, creative, and strategic thinker who has experience in developing relevant programs and goals.
- Experienced collaborator, team builder and leader who will effectively represent the chamber in many environments.
- A proven track record of successfully working with a volunteer board, governments, and volunteer stakeholders.
The Palm Beach Chamber.
Founded in 1929, the Palm Beach Chamber serves the Town of Palm Beach. The business organization is composed of investors who
work together for the sole mission of representing the local business community in support of the free enterprise system through programming, advocacy, and education. The Board is composed of no fewer than twelve members. Board members serve for one or two
year terms, based on their appointment. The President and CEO, who serves at the pleasure of the Board, is also considered a member of the Board.
Three professional staff members lead the chamber. In addition to the President, other team members include a Vice President of Membership Engagement and Marketing Communications Coordinator. Key programs currently in place for the chamber include monthly breakfast meetings with speakers focusing on issues impacting the business community; an ambassador program that assists members with the organization’s benefits; and a young professionals’ program that serves to enhance the exposure, opportunity, and impact of young, career minded individuals living or working in Palm Beach through social, civic and professional participation.
T...he chamber also coordinates the publication of the Palm Beach Guide which is distributed annually to all Palm Beach households and major waterfront residences along the intracoastal waterway.
