The University of Minnesota School of Dentistry is recruiting for a Director of the Mobile Dental Clinic! This is a clinical faculty position that will also be responsible for leading the Mobile Dental Clinic operations, including the supervision of Mobile Dental Clinic’s staff.
The Mobile Dental Clinic is one of the School of Dentistry’s 14 community-based dental clinics. In these clinics, fourth-year dental students, third-year dental therapy students, and fourth-year dental hygiene students treat patients under faculty supervision. The Mobile Dental Clinic provides care on week-long rotations. Three weeks out of the month the MDC rotates to our 7 metro area sites (currently Blaine, Eden Prairie, Forest Lake, North Minneapolis, South Minneapolis, Roseville, and West Saint Paul); and one week out of the month the MDC is at one of our 7 outstate sites (currently Austin, Duluth, North Mankato, Rochester, St. Cloud, Walker, and Winona). The MDC Director would provide faculty coverage four days per week at the metro site locations, with the fifth day for administrative tasks and meetings. The Director would also ideally provide coverage for several of our road trip outstate week-long rotations; the number of outstate rotations can be determined by discussions with the Outreach Division Director. For road trips, hotel accommodations are covered, while mileage and per diem expenses are reimbursed post-trip.
The School of Dentistry has a strong commitment to community outreach, and our community oral health activities are an important part of both our education and service mission.
The Mobile Dental Clinic Director will be responsible for:
