REPRESENTATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES???Lead Advocacy
Monitors proposed state legislation and other regulatory issues of interest to Cincinnati Children's including those of HealthVine, LLC. Identify, track, and attempt public policy changes beneficial to Cincinnati Children's and Cincinnati Children's HealthVine, LLC, Including but not limited to child health and child mental health with state governments and state agencies. Develop the individual and institutional capacity to propose and respond to legislative and regulatory initiatives in CCHMC and Healthvine, LLC primary service area. Including but not limited to Insurance regulation for managed care and state Medicaid capitated rates, managed care incentive programs and special state programs.
???Institutional Positions
Prepare routine summary briefings for Senior Management of Cincinnati Children's HealthVine, LLC and their advisory Board. Identify and coordinate opportunities for Senior Management and the Board to advocate on behalf children's health issues and support necessary legislative initiatives. Liaisons with Cincinnati Children's HealthVine, LLC staff, physicians, legal team, marketing and communications team, planning and business development team and finance staff concerning public policy managed care issues in the primary care service areas. Know the market and needs of managed care in a risk-based model by working with Revenue Cycle and Payor Relations/Contracting. Having a working knowledge and understanding of Medicaid and how it operates in applicable states. Establish and maintain knowledge of Cincinnati Children's HealthVine, LLC programs, policies, and services to effectively represent the organization.
???Institution Liason
Serves as the institutional liaison to local and state organizations in applicable states such as the Ohio Association of Health Plans. Coordinate Cincinnati Children's HealthVine, LLC activities at a state level in concert with other child serving organizations including Children's Hospitals in Ohio as appropriate. Build community and community organizational support for Cincinnati Children's and Cincinnati Children's HealthVine LLC, in eight county primary service area. Execute activities related to government relations and community outreach noted in the institution's strategic and communication plans. Ensure messaging is consistent with the goals and mission of the broader Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center.
QualificationsEDUCATION/EXPERIENCERequired:???Bachelor's degree in a related field
??? 7+ years of work experience in a related job discipline
Preferred:. Masters in Public Health and/or Administration
. Registered lobbyist
Unique Skills:Knowledge of Medicaid and health insurance industry.
