Job Description:

Position Overview:

ABA is seeking an energetic and detail-oriented policy and advocacy operations professional to support member communications and events for ABA’s Card Policy Council (CPC). This position will work with senior Policy team members to deliver excellent service to CPC stakeholders.  This opportunity is ideal for anyone looking to gain government relations/policy experience within a highly respected Policy office.

Key Duties:

• Execute member communication strategy ensuring members remain informed and engaged.  Responsibilities include drafting letters, news bulletins, event summaries, and other relevant copy for members and stakeholders.
• Coordinate frequent in-person, and virtual stakeholder meetings and calls throughout the country.  Manage event logistics including coordinating availability and schedules of multiple stakeholders, reserving meeting space and conference lines, ordering of supplies and catering, coordination across ABA teams and with vendors and responsibilities for day-of event coordination.  This role will lead the planning of 1-2 major member events per year.
• Support financial operations of the team through adherence to ABA policies and procedures related to facilitation of member billing, vendor payments and invoicing, contract approval and renewal process management, expense and revenue tracking/forecasting and other duties as assigned to ensure compliance (training provided).
• Maintain and update stakeholder records and contacts within ABA’s customer relations management system (CRM) and execute intranet updates.
• Other duties as assigned by business need

Required Experience:

• Two to five years of operations experience working in a fast-paced, change oriented environment. Experience as a Scheduler, Administrative Director, or Legislative Correspondent (LC) on Capital Hill or a Federal Agency preferred
• Must be highly organized, have strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask to execute complex administrative processes
• Ability to troubleshoot unique and complex problems quickly with tact and discretion
• Must be flexibility regarding after-hours work (laptop and phone provided)
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suites and the ability to learn new systems quickly.  Experience with Microsoft SharePoint and basic website editing experience preferred. Basic desktop publishing and bookkeeping skills, or interest in learning required
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and strong customer service focus required
• Ability to take ownership and drive projects towards successful outcomes while working within a fast-paced, tight-knit team environment where flexibility, organization, and teamwork are essential
