Jackson Lewis is seeking a Litigation Docket Specialist, location flexible within the Eastern Time Zone. This position will be responsible for all New York offices. The Firm is ranked in the First Tier nationally in the category of Labor and Employment Litigation, as well as in both Employment Law and Labor Law on behalf of Management, in the U.S. News - Best Lawyers® “Best Law Firms.” Duties and Responsibilities: • Review all incoming ECF/e-filings, faxes, scanned mail deliveries and emails for the offices within the designated assignment group (multiple offices) and docket same utilizing the CompuLaw Vision software in a manner consistent with court/agency rules and current JL docketing protocols; • Generate firm-mandated reports both daily and weekly, as well as special reports requested by designated assignment group offices; • Remain current with developments, procedures and rules in courts and agencies within designated assignment group; • Apply established case-closing procedures on all matters within designated assignment group as needed; • Research and respond to inquiries of attorneys, managers, paralegals and assistants within the designated assignment group to successfully manage the docket and calendars; • Assist as needed and directed in additional projects; • Manage work load and time efficiently.

Skills and Educational Requirements: • 3-5 years of experience in a legal environment. • One or more years of docketing experience preferred. • Familiarity with labor and employment law practice; specific experience in New York practice is desired. • Proficient in the use of CompuLaw docketing software, or similar rules-based docket management software. • Strong attention to detail, analytical abilities, and resourcefulness. • Familiarity with standard concepts, practices and procedures of state and federal courts and agencies within labor and employment law practices. • Pro-active in obtaining and interpreting deadline-related information. • Ability to communicate effectively with attorneys, staff, and co-workers regarding all aspects of docketing, court filings and processes. • Ability to e-file within CM/ECF, navigate within PACER. • Must have proven project execution skills and a strong client service attitude. • Ability to prioritize and execute tasks. • Proficient in technology. • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
