AHRI has a vacancy in our Arlington, VA office for a Lead Regulatory Advisor--Refrigeration Technology with our Legal, Regulatory, and Research Team. Reporting to the General Counsel, this position provides support to AHRI members on policy matters related to the regulation of HVACR equipment. The Lead Regulatory Advisor will facilitate member meetings, write regulatory comments, and advocate for industry interests with government regulatory agencies. Duties include but are not limited to:
Research and analyze proposed standards, codes, federal and state regulations related to AHRI covered products to determine technical issues affecting AHRI members.
Communicate proposed standards, codes, and regulations as well as relevant background information and analyses to AHRI membership and staff through presentations, bulletins, correspondence, AHRI publications, articles, and other media.
Develop AHRI policy positions and strategy by consulting with members, AHRI teams, and other stakeholders.
Provide consultation on technical matters for other AHRI staff, including addressing interdisciplinary issues with non-technical departments.
Provide technical expertise and regulatory strategy in support of AHRI's advocacy program.
AHRI offers an excellent benefits package and a friendly work environment. The hiring range for this position is $95,000 to $105,000 annually.

Bachelor's degree in technical or policy field. Graduate degree in public policy, government relations, economics or degree in law preferred.
Minimum of 5 years experience working with a government agency, trade association, or for a legislative body or committee.
4 years of experience in technical or policy field related to HVACR desired.
Experience working for an AHRI member or similar HVACR or home appliances company desired.
