Van Ness Feldman LLP, a nationally recognized law firm in the practice areas of energy, environment, litigation, land use, real estate, government relations, healthcare and Native American affairs with offices in Washington D.C., Seattle, the Bay Area, and Denver, seeks a Senior IT Manager to work in the firm’s Washington, DC office.
The Senior IT Manager will have the primary responsibility of overseeing the DC office software and hardware technology including:
maintenance and support
inventory and licensing
standardization in line with the firm’s overall deployment of systems
researching, development, testing, integration and deployment
vulnerability management, patching and updating
budgeting and forecasting
account provisioning and deactivation
system logging, retention and backups
managing the DC help desk employees
Reporting to the Director of IT, the Senior IT Manager must be able to work as a team member and collaborate with the firm IT team, professionals, departments, and vendors across two time zones with responsibilities in remote offices located in Lafayette, CA, Denver, CO and Seattle, WA. The individual will ensure excellent customer service/end-user support to local, remote and mobile users and work effectively with management while following firm procedures and policies. The firm is in the business of providing legal services to clients and thus the Senior IT Manager must perform these duties with specific focus on ensuring a smooth client and end-user experience in the delivery of those services.
The firm is committed to information security and holds certification of information security practices under ISO 27001 standards. The Senior IT Manager has various responsibilities under this program so it’s extremely important to always exercise caution and promote security awareness and best practices.
5+ years with Legal/Professional Services
10+ years in end-user support
10+ years administering and deploying Windows Server Operating Systems (Netware operating system is a plus)
2+ years familiarity with ISO 27001 framework/standard
10+ years use of AD/NDS management tools
10+ years Group Policies
10+ years DNS, DHCP, Print Management, IIS, File Replication
10+ years VMWare virtualization
15+ years Networking skills from point to point through switches and routers with authentication
10+ years administering and supporting critical systems such as DMS, RMS, CRM, and other communications, collaboration and production tools such as Microsoft Office.
5+ years managing IT professionals and collaborating with other team members
Technical Training and certification in the areas responsible is desirable
Independently motivated, able to collaborate and work as a team and works well with minimal supervision.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
3+ years SQL experience desirable
