Digital Content Coordinator-Strategic Initiatives 13337
Strategic Initiatives at West Virginia University is seeking applicants for a Digital Content Coordinator (Web Developer NC.4). As an essential member of the Strategic Initiatives communications and marketing team, the digital content coordinator will be responsible for conceptualizing, creating and maintaining original content for several internal and external digital platforms, including HTML email, Info Stations (digital signage) and websites/web pages. This creative professional will promote WVU to students, faculty, staff and the general public through the design and development of engaging content in support of the University's Strategic Initiatives function and its divisions/units, which include Auxiliary and Business Services, Corporate Relations, Finance, Government Relations, Information Technology Services and Talent and Culture.
In order to be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will:
Leverage advanced knowledge of digital content platforms and design principles to create and distribute HTML email content for high-impact messages (as determined by the assistant director of marketing communications for Strategic Initiatives/director of projects for Strategic Initiatives).
Design and develop captivating and innovative content for West Virginia University's InfoStation digital signage platform.
Create graphical elements and original website copy (often in collaboration with writer/editor and University Relations staff) for the Strategic Initiatives function and its related divisions/units. Using a variety of web development tools and best practices, this position is responsible for content development as well as the day-to-day management of websites.
Employ experience, expertise and professional judgment to create standards for digital content and delivery techniques across Strategic Initiatives' web properties.
Act as a strategic advisor to staff on web page design principles and development. Ensures compliance with the University's web policy and style guidelines. Performs project work and internal support as needed.
Monitor usage to influence the ongoing development and continuous improvement of websites.
Ensure all web content is accurate and up to date.
Serve as point of contact for guidance, assistance and questions related to websites.
Provide graphic design support for presentation material and other marketing collateral for internal events/messaging.
Perform related duties as assigned or directed.
Requires a bachelor's degree in graphic design, multimedia, integrated marketing or a related field.
Two (2) Three (3) years' with web page/graphic design communication
