The Employer Marketing Specialist II role focuses on the efforts to support the MemorialCare business development team. This specialist is responsible for building new relationships and maintaining existing accounts with employers and health benefit consultant and broker relationships, as well as FFS revenue in the LA County region. Executes day-to-day ownership of accounts in the LA County region and identifies new accounts and plans to build relationships. Participates as key member of the system employer team, providing key learnings and expertise to the wider group to ensure success across the System. Manages and follows tracking and measurement systems and B2B marketing and communications plans to effectively support employer activities.
Essential Job Outcomes and Functions
Assist the director of business development by writing the LA County section of the annual B2B sales and marketing plan including the time lines, tactics and measurable goals. Develop strategic sales plans to support the goals for each targeted account. Implement each sales plan and report results on weekly basis in tracking tools as well as in regular formal meetings.
Maintain and keep an understanding of the business environment in Los Angele County and proactively identify and develop new business account leads and source those in support of the System goals. Establish relationships with newly identified targets.
Support System business development team through expertise, sharing best practices and key learnings that can be leveraged across the markets for the System. Support the director of business development in researching employer opportunities outside of Los Angeles County, providing input during regular meetings.
Support opportunities obtained by developing presentations for the sales meetings and materials for target account events.
In partnership with System government relations, take a membership/committee leadership role in regional chambers of commerce and other employer organization to leverage employer opportunities within city workforce development committees, economic development committees, etc.
Ensure that plan execution tracking and reporting is effective and actionable in measuring success and that data is input on a consistent basis.
Participate in marketing brainstorms and plans strategic initiatives within the integrated marketing plans. The marketing employer specialist is responsible for drafting the employer relations portion of the integrated marketing plan along with the key learnings for the recap.
Minimum of three (3) years sales and/or marketing experience required.
Knowledge of the healthcare industry, health insurance and benefits products required. Healthcare business development/sales preferred.
Experience with selling new or misunderstood services is a plus; Ability to work independently and be accountable for results; Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing; Public speaking and presentation skills. Strong organizational skills. Experience with Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Basecamp preferred.
Good driving record and reliable transportation for use on the job.
Bachelors degree in sales, marketing, business or related field required.
