Leading trade association has an opening for a legislative analyst to provide support on legislative and regulatory issues affecting the senior living industry at the federal and state levels. Responsibilities will include monitoring and tracking legislative priorities, researching current trends affecting the senior living industry and translating it into content for reports, policy memos and presentations.

--Daily management of legislative tracking tool (Politico Pro), including but not limited to: developing search criteria (keywords/phrases) for legislative and regulatory searches; monitoring pending state and federal legislation and regulations; analyzing proposed bills and regulations, preparing summaries and issue briefs; working with state partners on legislative issues; posting bills, regulations and other public policy announcements onto website; maintaining public policy portion of website; and administration of legislative and regulatory e-mail alert lists.

--Drafting of quarterly nationwide report on regulatory and legislative activity relevant to Argentum members
--Writing Public Policy article for each issue of Senior Living Executive magazine
--Serve as primary staff contact for the Government Relations Roundtable
--Providing support to all members of the public policy team, including but not limited to: assistance with various congressional Fly-Ins, coordinating meetings on Capitol Hill, attend congressional hearings, conferences, and events
--Lead grassroots advocacy campaign
--Assist with PAC events such as annual golf event

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Travel: 15% travel required.
Required Education and Experience: 1.Bachelor's degree, preferably with a concentration in public policy, government affairs or senior living preferred. 2.Two years or more experience with state and federal legislative processes and or grassroots advocacy.
