The Office of External Relations is responsible for the communication between Peabody and various constituencies. The team provides hands on and strategic leadership for student recruitment, media, community, alumni and government relations. In order to help meet this mission we seek a Manager of Digital Media Strategies to provide not only hands-on support for an array of social media activities, but to provide advice and recommendations on many aspects of social media marketing and outreach. Responsibilities for this position include: Social Media Manage the day-to-day maintenance and continuity of all social media outlets Identify ways to build Peabody College's visibility and enhance its reputation through innovative use of social media platforms Help plan and implement creative programs to increase engagement and followers for Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and other applicable social channels These include, but are not limited to, use of social media for: Marketing and advertising Increasing engagement with constituents Evaluating and recommending new and unique outreach tactics Develop and maintain an activity calendar for key social media initiatives to provide fresh and engaging content on a regular basis Calendar should be closely aligned with existing Peabody College recruitment and rankings activities Use social media to drive awareness of and attention to events and programs Identify effective tracking and feedback mechanisms to help ensure messages about events, activities, or recruitment opportunities are noticed Monitor conversations and keep the college informed of trends, issues, and topics of interest Provide necessary alert system for communication of bad news, important trends, etc. Continually research new social platforms and their potential use and make recommendations for implementation as appropriate Ensure that the Peabody brand is properly represented, and not misrepresented by unauthorized accounts or activities on social media Collaborate with the External Relations team and other clientele to conceptualize various projects including new uses and applications of social media Research materials, conduct interviews, and write content for social media and website Track and analyze key performance metrics on social media activities, making recommendations to change/adjust/maintain strategies and tactics Conduct competitive analysis research such as competitor offerings and tactical best practices Regularly report on competitor social media activities and make recommendations to change and enhance Peabody's social media activities to match and exceed what our competitors are doing External and Internal Communications In conjunction with the Director of External Relations, work with various academic departments to identify programs and activities for promotion Help produce multiple regular e-mail newsletters, including identifying story ideas, researching and writing Write social media content that helps Peabody stand out from the competition Write short news stories for the Peabody website Web Working with Vanderbilt University's Web Communications team and the various content managers, provide counsel and hands-on assistance to help ensure consistency in the look and feel of the Peabody web presence Make content upgrades to the Peabody web site when necessary Tie the social media activities to the Peabody web site Consider the web site to be the primary landing page for all social media activities
